Last Queen of Egypt

Last Queen of Egypt 1967 The lady on the left is Narriman, my wife’s best friend from Egypt. She was married at 17 to King Farouk. She was visiting in June ‘67. We took her to the O Club–the CO danced as did I then a young[weren’t theyall] LT. asked–As the music finished a voice was heard to say ” JEEESUS wait till I tell my Mom I danced with a Queen!” She was offered evacuation but refused because of the possible reaction in Cairo. At the Skin divers club I had rented for ‘tomorrow’ a $5 an hour boat to cruise down to Tripoli. Narriman asked for a coin for the Juke-box. She was playing a Frank Sinatra track and I enquiredas to whether he was a favorite ” The last time I was in Libya we were cruising in his private yacht just opposite here–he sends me all his albums”!!!Roberts boat CANCELLED!!!
